If the whitelisting was done at the Partner level, then the Segments can be pushed to INVITE_PARTNER. Whereas, if the whitelisting was done at the Advertiser level, then the Segments can be pushed to INVITE_ADVERTISER.

  1. Log in to the DDP console.
  2. Select any segment from the Segments tab.
  3. Select License To….
  4. Select Bid Manager Partner.

If a red error message stating Not Found appears, then go back to step 3 and select Bid Manager Advertiser.

What should be done when the “Value is required” error occurs while activating a license?

If you receive the following error while activating a licensee, then license the segment again to the same client. This step activates the seat as well.

What do we know about whitelisting Zeotap as a third-party Data Provider?

From Oct 2018, for new Advertisers who are using our DDP segments, Google must whitelist request-by-request the third-party Data Provider (Zeotap iD: 823-644-6772 to be whitelisted) who is selling the segments for the Advertiser Account. This is a one-time activity and must be done only for the first time when a client is using Zeotap's data.

A new advertiser trying to buy our data cannot see our segments, without whitelisting.

Display & Video 360 Partner account owners can request to evaluate their eligibility at the partner-ID level. The required information must be submitted through this link.

If partner-level access is approved, all the Advertiser accounts under that partner’s account are granted access to the features pending ongoing policy compliance.

Before filing a request, ensure the advertiser meets all the Partner Level Eligibility Criteria as mentioned below.

Partner ID must have 50000 USD lifetime spend and 90 days account age

The requester must have DV360 partner Read and Write access

The requester must have the authority to submit the request on behalf of the company owning the DV360 partner contract

How to troubleshoot the audience size issues in DDP vs DV360

You can troubleshoot in the following two ways:

Method 1

Zeotap creates a segment and uploads the data against the segment using server-to-server sync. Once the data is uploaded, the audience size is available on the DDP UI within the next 7-10 days. This is the step that Zeotap can control on.

In case Kibana shows that last_uploaded_date is < 30 days, then the audience size must be available on the DDP UI.

In case the audience size is not available within the next 7-10 days, try re-triggering it for one more time. If the data still does not show up, then inform the Product team about the same. The Product Team can then raise a ticket with Google with the relevant logs. In case la st_uploaded_date is > 30 days, then re-trigger the segment immediately.

Method 2

Zeotap licenses the segment to the client seat using the Audience Partner . Once the segment is successfully licensed, Zeotap no longer has control on the process.

Data sharing with DV360 after segment licensing is done by DDP and we do not have knowledge about it. Therefore, if the segment size is available on the DDP UI and the client sees low or 0 audience size or has trouble delivering despite having a significant audience reach in DV360, this is an issue at Google's end. Client has to reach out to the DV360 support with their campaign details.

Example – Below is a screenshot of one of our segments in DV360. The size of the segment in DDP is 9 million. Out of the 9 million users, only

4.42 million are currently active in the Google Display Network, which is the Included Audience. Out of 4.42 million active users, only 1.86 million users fulfill the targeting criteria used while setting up the line item.

How does Google define active users?

Unfortunately, Google does not share the exact algorithm used to define the active users. Roughly, these are the Google users who have been active in the Display (for DV360) or Search network. It means that they have seen not just one, but many ads from Google within a certain recent time period.

It is highly likely our segments have users who have seen a few ads or may have visited a site. However, there is a threshold(of which I, unfortunately, don't have the number) of ads they are required to see before being set as active in a list and therefore can be targetted. This is completely a restriction at Google's end that we cannot control or fix as we have no idea at what point Google sets one of the users as inactive.

How to check the Product Type and Currency information for DDP seats?

You can check the Product Type and Currency information for the DDP seats in the following ways:

Method 1

  1. Get the client details and check with the POM Team. If possible, ask the client to share a screenshot that indicates the Seat ID, Currency and Product Type.
  2. If urgent or when no POM is available, go to the TEST ORG (id 1275) within unity.
  3. Create a test Destination with the client details and add it to a segment.

If the license is successful, then proceed with creating a Destination under the client organisation.

If not, then go back to the client and ask for the correct details. Once the correct details are available, create a Destination under the client organisation.

Method 2

  1. Log in to the DDP console – https://doubleclick.google.com/ddp/? c=2493311144& u=5638535979#lbp
  2. Select any segment from the Segments tab.
  3. Select License To….
  4. Select Bid Manager Partner.
  5. Enter the Client Seat ID.

If a red error message stating Not Found appears, then go back to step 3 and select Bid Manager Advertiser.

If a red error message stating Not Found appears, then go back to step 3 and select DoubleClick for Publishers. If a red error message stating Not Found appears, then go back to step 3 and select AdX.

  1. Select Next/Continue
  2. Note down the following details:

Product

Customer Currency Customer ID

  1. Click Cancel. Remember that you had performed these steps only to obtain the above information as mentioned in step 7.

Method 3

The client can check for the Product Type and Currency from DV360 left panel by navigating to Settings > Basic Details.

If the field name is Partner ID, then the Product Type is INVITE_PARTNER

If the field name is Advertiser ID, then the Product Type is INVITE_ADVERTISER

For DFP clients

  1. Click Admin > Global settings > Network settings.
  2. Find the numeric value next to Audience link ID. Note that your audience link ID is not the same as your network code.
