Israel hosts in a scientific conference on sustainable agriculture in arid regions

The two-day conference, led by Israel's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, is attended by speakers from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine and Israel, as well as lecturers from the United States and the European Union.

The event is held online because of coronavirus limitations, and addresses the arid regions' soil and water management, as well as crops and cropping systems in such regions.

This includes discussions on crop water productivity, non-conventional water for irrigation such as water high in salts or treated wastewater, and management of soil and plant nutrition.
