Pubmatic allows both private and public segments creation

Private segments: Private segment creation is an automated process through Unity. 2 inputs are required for destination creation: Account type and Account ID. Both inputs to be provided by the client. For private segments, account type would be either Publisher

/Demand Partner/Buyer. Only allowed currency is USD.

While adding the destination to a segment within Targeting, price input is required.

Public segments: Public segment creation is a partially manual process. There is a pre-created destination within Unity named “Pubmatic Public” which needs to be used for pushing all public segments. This destination is mapped to our account within Pubmatic. Only price input is required while pushing the segments.

Once the segments are pushed, they are available within Zeotap’s Pubmatic account: Audience Audience Segments (Credentials here)

To make the segments publically available, select all the relevant segments Share Permissions Allow All. If it needs to be shared only with all Publishers or DSPs within Pubmatic, select the All Publishers only or All Buyers/DSPs only option

Both private and public segments are available instantly within Pubmatic once pushed from Unity

P.S. Pubmatic cannot handle map and mweb IDs as part of the same segment. So whenever we create a segment in Unity with both map and mweb, we push 2 versions of it to Pubmatic by internally creating two segments. The segments are listed together in Pubmatic under Audience Segments. So any sharing permissions should be updated for both segments

Within Unity you will see 2 cards with 2 separate segment IDs (one for cookie, other for Device IDs)
